The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo has sent a special thank-you message to the electorates in Mapamuro Local Government Area.
He equally hailed the victory of the Hon. Olawumi Jacob in the recently conducted State Assembly election in Mopamuro as “the force of a united people”, insisting that the member-elect was deserving of his “resounding victory”.
Fanwo who stated this in a Special Appreciation Message to the people of Mopamuro LGA for electing the APC Candidate, urged the people of the Local Government Area to remain united.
He said: “It wasn’t our victory but the victory of all Mopamuro people, irrespective of political affiliations or religious division. Our people spoke with one voice and emphatically too that Olawumi Jacob is the man they want to represent them at the State House of Assembly. Hon. Olawumi Jacob is a great communicator, a wonderful lobbyist, a humble representative and a great example of what the youth can offer in leadership positions. Mopamuro will be proud of him.
“On behalf of all the leaders and supporters of our party, I want to sincerely thank all the people of Mopamuro for making the historic win a special one. You have demonstrated unmistakably that power truly belongs to the people.
“We also thank the people for conducting themselves in such an organized manner with the over 50 polling units across Mopamuro speaking in one voice. Your Olawumi Jacob will not let you down.
“On Saturday, the All Progressives Congress won all the Wards. Nobody remembered any division. We spoke resoundingly with our voice and we have heard your voice.”
Fanwo also called on the co-contestants to accept the olive branch from the All Progressives Congress, saying they will be well accommodated into the “Mopamuro Progressive Family”.
“We welcome those who challenged our party’s candidate to the Progressive Family. We want them to join hands with the winner in order to move the Local Government forward. In politics, some people will win while some people will lose. But in this case, we are all winners.”
He commended the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Moses Sunday David for his “political masterclass” that delivered even the Ward of the main oppositions to the All Progressives Congress, saying the Executive Chairman of the Local Government has “justified his position as the Political Bulldozer of Mopamuro LGA”.
