Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has commissioned four (4) Bore-Holes for Ire-Akari community, Ilobu, Irepodun loca government area of the state on Wednesday.
Adekeke who was represented by his Deputy, Prince Kola Adewuse at the official commissioning of the water project as part of projects to mark 100 days of the governor in office.
The Governor described the water supplies as the most essential to community economic growth which he said can reduced level of poverty and stress of women and children who often spend hours everyday searching for water.
Adeleke said “We all know that water is a key element to life and good living, water is the driving force of all nature, nothing can survive or be produced without water, that is to say, if there is any magic on this planet, it is contained in water.
“When water supplies are improved and made sustainable, it significantly enhanced community economic growth and reduced poverty, woman and children who often spend hours everyday searching for water which inhibits woman from working to generate livelihood as well as reducing children’s time for education can start using their time for productive ventures, as clean, portable and drinkable water is now within their reach.
“I charged the beneficiaries of the projects to seriously see to the issues of maintenance and sustainability.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the World Bank and the Federal CARES Support Unit (FCSU) very immensely for their timely intervention in Osun state. I applaud Osun CSDA and the coordinating Unity of Osun CARES for this Noble intervention.
“I thank you all for your maximum support and co-operation with this government, I cover more of it and also promise to always put in our best to better the lot of our people and to leave Osun state after the end of our tenure, better than we met it.”
