Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon Lukman Afolabi has discribed the demise of Yoruba veteran actor, Adedeji Aderemi, popular with the name Baba Olofana as a great lost to Edeland.

Afolabi in his condolences statement made available to newsmen in Ede on Friday, said the news of the death of the veteran actor got to him as a rude shock.

The council boss also condoled with the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, and the people of Edeland entirely.

The condolences statement reads “It is with heart full of grief that I sympathize with the people of Ede South Local Government Area in extension Edeland entirely for the passing away of Chief Adedeji Aderemi, also known as Olofa Ina.

“Indeed we have lost a shinning star who promoted Yoruba culture and tradition through his acting profession.

“Chief Adedeji Aderemi was my father, whom I benefited lot of wisdoms from, our relationship was beneficial as son and father , we discussed development of Ede a lot during his life time.

“During my time as President of Federation of Ede Youth Development Association (FEYDA), late Majeobaje of Edeland was given the award of Ede Golden Achiever Award ,EGAA, 2003.

“Since then we have good relationship as a father and symbol of youth.

“Our Baba promoted Ede dialect, cultural heritage which was why he adopted Olofa Ina as his stage name.

“I and other youth of Ede all supported and rally round late Olofa Ina during and after his chieftancy title as Sobaloju of Edeland.

” I simpathize with the Olukosi Compound of Ede where Chief Adedeji Aderemi came from, our father will be forever remembered and appreciated.

“May God give your the strength to bear this loss.

“Kabiesi, Babawa Timi of Ede accept my condolences for losing this irreplaceable chief, Majeobaje of Edeland.

“I equally, condole with Timi Council of Chiefs, you have also loss an important member of yours. I pray God Almighty fill the vaccum late Majeobaje of Edeland left behind.”
