A veteran fuji singer, Ayinla Kollington, was in the news early in the week when he was rumoured to have passed on after battling an unknown illness.
However, the fuji star quickly refuted the claims when he appeared in a video made on his hospital bed at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja.
In the video, which went viral on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, the singer, who is also known as Kebe-n-Kwara, thanked the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; as well as staff of LASUTH. He said, “I want to thank Lagosians. I also want to thank the Lagos State Government and the management of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, as well as the team under the leadership of Adetokunbo Fabanwo. It is only God that can save life, but I want to appreciate him and the team, because I would have gone to the great beyond.”
Reacting to the video, a fan identified as Agboola said, “Baba kebe, I wish you quick recovery.”
Another fan, Owoyemi, wrote, “Baba, it is because you are a public figure. God will heal you; but this is not the same treatment they give to others.”
On her part, Jewel Jumoke, said, “Waoh, I didn’t know he was still alive. Good to see him.”
Yet another fan, simply identified as Laimi, said, “This is a VIP ward. Glad you got good treatment. Get well soon, baba Sikiru.”
