In order to find lasting solution to the crisis engineered by the late Prophet Bojesomo’s children on the ownership of ori oke agbara emi mimo in Erinmo, key stakeholders have taken a bold and decisive action on reopening of Ori Oke Agbara emi mimo in Erinmo popularly known as Ori oke Erinmo in Oriade Local Government Areas of Osun State.
The Elerinmo In Council will consequently approach the Osun State Police Command to review its directive on its closure.
This was contained in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen by the Elerinmo in Council and signed by High Chief Taiwo Agbonmagbe, the Saba of Erinmo and Chief Samuel Omosebi, the Yegbata of Erinmo.
Recall that the ownership crisis over Orioke Agbara started when the children of Pa Joseph Odeyemi Bojesomo, a native of Efon Alaaye and the last administrator of the mountain attempted to bury their father on holy land last year, claiming, in their invites, that the mountain falls within Efon Alaaye and thereafter attacking Erinmo indigenes with guns and harmful equipments which led to total closure of the famous mountain by the Osun State Police Command.
The attempt was rebuffed by Erinmo indigenes worldwide spearheaded by the Erinmo Ijesa Diaspora Heritage ( EIDH) allegedly resulting in treats to life of property of Erinmo people by the children of deceased who besieged Erinmo town shooting sporadically leading to the closure of the mountain by the police.
EIDH emphasized that, “Erinmo-Ijesa is an ancient town in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, Erinmo is famous and regarded as a ‘Spiritual Jerusalem’ of some sort because of the spiritual power and potency present at the mountain – Ori-Oke Erinmo.
According to the statement, “this mountain is often visited by people from across Nigeria and beyond for the purpose of prayers and pilgrimage and many testimonies abound of answered prayers from the mountain, which is testament to the spiritual potency of the mountain “.
The stakeholders took the necessary steps towards reopening of the famous prayer mountain for holy pilgrimage which formed the focal point of their discussions during the peaceful meeting held at the palace of the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa.
As part of the discussions at the meeting, it was reported that the surveyor general has visited woth a high powered technical team of the boundary commission and thereafter confirmed that ori oke agbara emi mimo is located in Erinmo, Oriade local government of Osun state, correcting the erroneous impression hitherto created by the bojesomos and dousing the brewing tension over the boundary dispute created by the Bojesomos.
The stakeholders all of whom were both indigenous and non indigenous Prophets and Pastors that have ministered and still ministering on the prayer mountain, including Baba Oshinkomaya, prophet Tunde Adegun, prophet Maberu, Primate Ojo Ayobanjo, prophet Shola Babatunde, prophet Olubode Shobukola, prophet Babalola (Alhaji), Pastor Adegoke Oluwafemi, Superintendent Senior Apostle Michael Ikotun, Prophet Kayode Joshua and some Erinmo chiefs such as Chief Agbonmagbe, chief yegbata and Olori odo resolved that a steering committee should be set up to ensure total overhaul of the mountain in consonance with the intentions of the founders around 1936.
“It was also resolved that the following anointed men of God Prophet Oshinkomaya, Prophet Babalola, Primate Ayobanjo, and Prophet Maberu are to immediately put mechanism in motion for the re opening of Ori Oke Agbara Emi mimo in Erinmo before the commencement of the 2024 lenten season subject to approval of the Police authorities.
“It was stressed during the meeting that the administration of Ori Oke Agbara Emi Mimo In Erinmo will no longer be under the Bojesomo family and that no family or individual will have exclusive control of it henceforth.
“The stakeholders also resolved that security be stepped up on and around the mountain to ensure safety of life and property of pilgrims to the holy land as well as forestall breakdown of law and order by some unscrupulous element.
“The committee was also saddled with the responsibility of providing necessary basic facilities such as good toilet & bathroom borehole and guest house, climb stairs and motorable road for the pilgrims”.
Earlier, the Elerinmo, Oba. Dr. Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II,had explained that he had no personal grudge against anybody on the management of the famous Ori oke Erinmo as there was no doubt that it belongs to Erinmo and made available for use by all denominations both in Nigeria and diaspora, but will not allow anyone to desecrate it or cede his people’s heritage.
Oba Arowotawaya, reaffirmed his support to the family of Bojesomo, stressing that the Erinmo community has not rescinded its decision to open an endowment fund for the widows left behind by Baba Bojesomo.
According to the statement, resolutions at the Ori-Oke Agbara Emi Mimo stakeholders meeting includes the following:
.THAT IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED BY THE OSUN STATE BOUNDARY COMMISSION ON THE REPORT OF THE STATE SURVEYOR GENERAL THAT ORI OKE AGBARA EMI MIMO IS LOCATED IN ERINMO ORIADE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF OSUN STATE
THAT THE ADMINISTRATION OF ORI OKE AGBARA EMI MIMO IN ERINMO WILL NO LONGER BE UNDER THE BOJESOMO FAMILY OR CHILDREN
THAT SOME UNCHRISTAIN LIKE ACTIVITIES PERPETRATED BY THE CHILDREN AND FAMILY OF BOJESOMO ON ORI OKE AGBARA EMI MIMO IN ERINMO WILL NO LONGER BE PERMITTED
THAT NO FAMILY OR INDIVIDUAL WILL HAVE CONTROL OF ORI OKE AGBARA EMI MIMO IN ERINMO HENCEFORTH
THAT A NEW MANAGEMENT CONMITTEE WHICH WILL DETERMINE HOW THE ADMINISTRATION OF ORI OKE AGBARA EMI MIMO IN ERINMO WILL BE PUT IN PLACE PROMPTLY.
THAT THE ELERINMO IN COUNCIL WILL APPROACH THE OSUN STATE POLICE COMMAND TO REVIEW ITS DIRECTIVE SO THAT ORI OKE AGBARA EMI MIMO IN ERINMO CAN BE RE OPENED TO THE PUBLIC
THAT EFFORTS WILL BE PUT IN PLACE TO RE OPEN ORI OKE AGBARA EMI MIMO IN ERINMO ON OR BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE 2024 LENTEN SEASON SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE POLICE AUTHORITIES
THAT THE FOLLOWING ANOINTED MEN OF GOD HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO IMMEDIATELY PUT IN PLACE STEPS TO RE OPENING OF ORI OKE AGBARA EMI MIMO IN ERINMO AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE TIME :
