Founder of the Aaraj Empowerment Foundation, Engr. Kehinde Raji popularly known as AARAJ has said its foundation has released over N150 million for businessmen and women in Osun state to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.
Engr. Raji said his foundation released such an amount of money to boost the state economy to alleviate the suffering of the citizens.
The philanthropy disclosed this at the 4th edition of the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) Media Parley over the weekend.
He said that the removal of the subsidy by the Federal Government highly contributed to hike in the price of goods across the country.
According to Aaraj’s founder, we have pumped over 150 million into the state’s economy after fuel subsidies removal.
“For people who have N50,000 or N100,000 as money for their business, N50,000 now can not buy N15,000 goods that is the reason why in January and before January pumped millions of naira.
“We have given 20 to 30 million to nano traders and last month we gave another so it can alleviate their suffering with the business support fund, we give fresh graduates business owners just to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal.”
Speaking on the action of President Bola Tinubu by removing the fuel subsidy, Engr. Raji said that the president meant well for the people of Nigeria, saying the country had been mismanaged by the previous leaders.
“Nigeria has been mismanaged for a long time, before President Tinubu got into power the past leaders were not been fair to Nigerians.
“I can assure you within one year Nigeria will be a better place. The Dangote refinery has started working now and the Port Harcourt refinery is at a 60% productivity level, within the next one or two months things will change but for now the present situation in the country and why Aaraj Foundation came up with our little package for support less privilege.
“I can assure Nigerians and honestly, President Bola Tinubu meant well for this country putting politics aside we need to love this country, and with our prayers and support I believe won’t be disappointed” he stressed
