Chief of Army Staff Taoreed Lagbaja has passed away after battling an undisclosed illness.
He was 56 years old and had been leading the army since President Bola Tinubu appointed him on June 19, 2023.
Just a few weeks ago, on October 20, the Nigerian Army dismissed rumors of Lagbaja’s death, stating that he was actually receiving medical treatment abroad.
