An Osun based human rights activist, Comrade Olowu Emmanuel, has dedicated the award he received from Osun Online Publishers Association, OOPA, to Nigerian journalists.
Olowu, on Thursday, in Osogbo was recognized by the online publishers with the OOPA Man of Valor award alongside Spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, CSP Yemisi Opalola among others.
The activist, who is also Chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, Osun chapter,in his acceptance speech lauded the online publishers for recognizing him with the award.
According to Olowu “I will not admit that I am a man of courage because to me we have not done what is expected and we have not done better.

“We are still complaining because the society has not change and we have not really achieved what we want to achieve,but I believe with time we will gradually achieve what we really want if God spares our lives.
Appreciating the media for supporting his activism in defending human rights, Emmanuel said “to show my appreciation I dedicate this award to all media persons across Nigeria that have been victimized in the course of their professional duty.”
