The Yoruba community in Abuja has congratulated the promotion and decoration of Banji Lawal as the Deputy Inspector General of Police.
A statement by its president, Alhaji Abdulakeem Mosebolatan, lauded the decoration of Lawal, describing it as deserving.
According to Mosebolatan, promotion of people who have contributed to the development of police will encourage them to be more committed to the protection of lives of citizenry.
He urged Lawal to use the opportunity of the new position to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu in the fight against terrorism.
“The Yoruba community in Abuja and it’s environs heartily felicitate with the new Deputy Inspector General of Police, Banji Lawal. His appointment is deserving because he has contributed meaningfully to the Nigerian Police.
“We, hereby, advised DIG Lawal to demonstrate his capacity by using the new office to work towards achieving the goals of President Bola Tinubu in ending terrorism and any form of insurgency.
“We are sure of his capacity to join hands with the Inspector General of Police to fight the bandits and ensure that terrorists are decimated finally in the country.
