Sen. Lere Oyewumi Fags-off Major Infrastructure Road Project in Ikire

Construction of Obada-Iso Epo road through Jolaiya, Oke-Ada, Ori-Eru to Sabo Road, Ikire

The Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Lere Oyewumi has officially initiated a major infrastructure project in Ikire, with the flag-off of the construction of a critical network of roads designed to enhance economic activity and improve accessibility for residents.

The project encompasses the construction of the Obada-Iso Epo Road, which will traverse the major internal areas of Jolaiya, Oke-Ada, and Ori-Eru before connecting to the central Sabo Road in Ikire.

Representing Senator Oyewumi, the Osun State Commissioner for Energy, Hon. Ademola Adeyemo, conveyed the Senator’s profound commitment to delivering impactful infrastructural dividends across the constituency.

He noted that the road network is not just about asphalt and culverts; it is about economic empowerment and community integration.

Hon. Wale Olunloye further emphasized that the project is a direct response to the yearnings of the people and aligns with Senator Oyewumi’s agenda to modernize infrastructure, noting that improved road networks are crucial catalysts for social and economic development.

The symbolic flag-off ceremony, which signifies the commencement of the construction work, was performed by Chief Falana, who represented the monarch, the Akire of Ikireland, Oba Olatunde Falabi, lending royal credence to the project. He highlighted the road’s strategic importance beyond mere connectivity.

“The construction of the Obada-Iso Epo through Jolaiya, Oke-Ada, Ori-Eru to Sabo road will fundamentally boost the economic landscape of this community. It will reduce commute times, lower the cost of transportation and unlock the commercial potential that resides within these areas”, he stressed.

Ikire Community leaders and residents expressed deep appreciation for the Senator’s intervention, noting that the project will alleviate decades of mobility challenges and significantly improve the daily lives of thousands of people in Ikire.

The successful completion of this road is expected to boost the economic prosperity of the area and the whole of Ikire.
