According to him, “This moment is not just about a change in leadership; it is a reaffirmation of our collective belief in democracy, unity, and the enduring strength of our union.

“To the delegates who travelled from far and near to exercise their democratic right, your dedication speaks volumes. Your presence here is a testament to your faith in our Union and your hope for a stronger tomorrow. I do not take this mandate lightly. It is a sacred trust.

“Comrades, leadership is not a privilege — it is a responsibility. We are stepping into this office not as ruler but as servants of the people. We are the conscience of our members, and we are duty-bound to listen to your yearnings, defend your rights, and advance your welfare with courage and integrity.

“We shall operate an open-door policy. Your ideas will matter. Your voices will be heard. Your concerns will shape our actions. The confidence you have reposed in us will not be betrayed.

“We understand clearly that the road ahead is not an easy one. The tasks before us are enormous. The challenges are real. But history has shown that when workers stand united, no obstacle is insurmountable. With God on our side and with your unflinching cooperation, we shall overcome every difficulty.

“Unity will be our greatest strength. Division is a luxury we can not afford.

“We are committed to genuine struggle — a struggle anchored on dialogue, consultation, strategic engagement, and principled firmness. A struggle that guarantees improved welfare, dignity of labour, and collective well-being for all.

“The interests of the working class are sacred to us. They will remain at the centre of every decision we take and every action we pursue.

“However, as we demand accountability and fairness, we must also embody discipline and responsibility. I therefore call on all members to shun acts of indiscipline and any conduct that may undermine the integrity of our union or the scheme we serve. Let us be ambassadors of excellence, professionalism, and loyalty.
