New party: Democratic Leadership Alliance Unveiled

A new political platform, the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), has been unveiled with a promise to redefine governance in Nigeria through a strong ideological foundation anchored on innovation, ethical leadership, and people-centered policies.

In a press statement jointly signed by the National Chairman, Barrister Samuel M. Memeh, and the National Publicity Secretary, Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr., the group described itself as a movement aimed at addressing Nigeria’s systemic challenges, including economic stagnation and insecurity.

The DLA said its formation was driven by the urgent need for national renewal, stressing that it is not just another political party but a purpose-driven platform committed to long-term transformation.

According to the statement, the party’s vision is to build a Nigeria powered by science, technology, and industrialisation, with institutions that function effectively and leadership that remains accountable to the people.

It outlined key economic priorities, including transitioning the country from a consumption-based economy to one driven by production and innovation, promoting local manufacturing, and investing in technology, research, and youth entrepreneurship.

On security and agriculture, the party raised concerns over the destruction of farmlands and the displacement of farming communities, describing the situation as unacceptable.

The DLA called for immediate legislative and policy actions to address the crisis, including the regulation of cattle movement nationwide and the establishment of designated ranching systems where livestock owners would take full responsibility for their operations.

It emphasised that protecting farmers and securing agricultural communities are essential to ensuring food security, economic stability, and national development. The party also advocated for increased youth participation in agriculture through modern technology and structured support systems.

The group urged Nigerians across all sectors to join the movement, describing itself as the country’s only ideologically grounded political party focused on national development rather than short-term political gains.

“The responsibility to rebuild Nigeria lies with all citizens,” the statement noted, calling on patriots and stakeholders to unite in pursuit of a new national direction.

The DLA also encouraged interested Nigerians to familiarise themselves with its vision and policies and to register as members through its official platform.

Rejecting corruption, political opportunism, and divisive tendencies, the party called for unity, discipline, innovation, and purpose-driven leadership.
The statement concluded with a call for collective action to rebuild the nation, expressing confidence that Nigeria can achieve a new era of progress through commitment and shared responsibility.
