Osun Poly Matriculates New Students

…As Rector eulogises Governor Adeleke’s performance in education

Osun State Polytechnic, Iree yesterday held its 31st Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Session, to formally admit new intakes into the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes across various departments and faculties of the institution.

The matriculation ceremony took place at the ETF Building of the institution, where newly admitted students gathered to take the oath of allegiance, marking their official entry into the academic community of the polytechnic.

While addressing the students, the Rector of the institution, Comrade Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi, admonished the new intakes to maintain good behaviour and remain focused on their academic pursuits throughout their stay in the institution.

He urged them to be disciplined and committed to achieving excellence in their studies.

Comrade Alabi also warned the students against involvement in cultism and other social vices capable of destroying their future and tarnishing the reputation of the institution.

He emphasised the importance of making positive choices that would contribute to their personal growth and academic success.

The Rector reiterated the commitment of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree to producing quality graduates who will not only seek employment but become employers of labour, contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of the state and the nation at large.

Mr Alabi commended the Governor of Osun State, Asiwaju Senator, Jackson Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, for his continuous support and positive approach to the development of education in the state, particularly the state-owned polytechnic, noting that the government’s efforts have continued to enhance teaching and learning in the institution, noting that successful accreditation of various programmes of the institution in the recent time was as a result of the Governor’s support for the Polytechnic. He also declared that Governor Adeleke has stocked studios, laboratories and workshops in the Polytechnic with State of the arts equipment which has enhanced the conduct of practicals for students in the institution.

The oath of allegiance was administered by the Registrar of the institution, Mr Abiodun Oloyede, who charged the students to abide by the rules and regulations guiding their academic and social conduct within the polytechnic community.

The matriculation ceremony was attended by members of the institution’s top management team, deans of faculties, directors of programmes, and heads of departments; who gathered to witness the formal admission of the new students into Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
