APC Irewole/Ayedaade/Isokan Federal Constituency Rejects Imposition of Candidate for Reps

Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Irewole/Ayedaade/Isokan Federal Constituency has vowed to reject any Imposition of the Candidate for the House of Representatives election, scheduled for early next year.

Stakeholders who came together at the APC Secretariat in Ikire expressed their grievances during their Constituency meeting held at the headquarters of Irewole Local Government.

They particularly rejected the candidacy of a former member, House of Representatives, Hon. Taiwo Oluga, saying they fed up with female representatives from the constituency since 1999, with little or no achievements to show.

The APC members were seen in a viral video shouting at Hon Oluga and chanting “O to ge,” meaning enough is enough.

They traced their history to 1999 when Hon Olubunmi Etteh represented the constituency for twelve years, followed by Hon. Ayo Omidiran, who spent eight years before Hon Taiwo Oluga, who came after her and spent for years at the green chamber – all with little or no achievements to show.

The protesters insisted that the leadership of Osun APC should not make the mistake of imposing unpopular candidate on them this time around, vowing that such a decision would surely boomerang and have negative consequences for the party in the future elections.

It would be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had earlier announced January 2027 for the Presidential and National Assembly elections, just as the ruling All Progressives Congress recently released a timetable indicating that its primary election will hold in May 2026, before the off cycle Osun Governorship election in August.
