Alajue Can Become Osun’s Palm Oil Production Hub — Monarch

The Olu of Alajue Kingdom, Ede Land, Oba Dr. Sulaimon Adebayo Olamilekan, has declared that Alajue possesses the capacity to become a major palm oil production hub capable of meeting the demands of the entire Osun State, provided adequate investments and support are directed toward the community.

The monarch made this known during the 2026 Ileya Festival held in Alajue Kingdom, where he emphasized the economic potential of the town and urged indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to return and invest in their ancestral land.

According to the royal father, the festival was conceived not merely as a cultural celebration but as a strategic platform to reconnect sons and daughters of Alajue with emerging opportunities within the kingdom.

“We are organizing this event so our people can return home, relate with one another, and establish themselves in Alajue Kingdom. There are many opportunities here. We are into farming and palm oil production that can serve the whole of Osun State if properly supported,” the monarch stated.

Oba Olamilekan noted that agriculture remains the backbone of the local economy, with palm oil production standing out as one of the kingdom’s strongest economic assets. He expressed confidence that with deliberate investment, modern processing facilities, and government partnership, Alajue could evolve into a leading agro-economic destination in Osun State.

The monarch further highlighted the significance of community-driven development, stressing that sustainable growth requires active participation from indigenes through investments, entrepreneurship, and support for local initiatives.

Beyond economic prospects, the royal father appealed to government authorities to accelerate the provision of critical infrastructure and social amenities needed to unlock the kingdom’s full potential.

“We are appealing to the government not to forget Alajue. While efforts are being made, we still need better schools, hospitals, and improved road networks to enhance development in our land,” he said.

With its rich agricultural resources, growing investment prospects, and strategic location, Alajue Kingdom is increasingly being viewed as one of the emerging economic frontiers in Ede Land.

Community leaders expressed optimism that within the next few years, the town would contribute significantly to Osun State’s economy through agriculture, trade, and aviation-linked development.

The 2026 Ileya Fiesta therefore served not only as a celebration of faith and culture but also as a rallying call for economic transformation, community participation, and sustainable development in Alajue Kingdom.
