Former Senatorial Aspirant, David Agboola, Resigns From APC
A retired Customs officer and two-time senatorial aspirant in the Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District, Aare David Olusogo Agboola, MON, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with immediate effect.
Agboola, who is also a recipient of the Kwame Nkrumah African Leadership Award and an ally of former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Otunba Senator Iyiola Omisore, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the APC Chairman of Ward 5, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.
In the letter dated June 13 2026, titled “Resignation Letter from All Progressives Congress,” Agboola said his decision was based on medical advice.
“Here is informing you of my formal resignation from your party (APC) with immediate effect. This becomes necessary due to medical advice,” he stated.
The former senatorial aspirant thanked the party leadership and members for their support, while formally ending his association with the APC.
Agboola, a prominent figure in Osun politics, had previously contested for the Senate seat representing Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District on two occasions.
