Group Condemns Rising Political Violence in Osun, Urges Stakeholders to Embrace Peace

A non-governmental organisation, the Forum for Nation Builders and Social Development, has expressed deep concern over the rising tension and needless loss of lives linked to political activities in Osun State.

The Forum described as disturbing the growing association of politics with violence, fear, and bloodshed, stressing that politics should be centred on service, development, and improving the wellbeing of the people.

In a statement on Wednesday signed by the forum chairman, Alhaji Lateef-Bakare said “No political ambition is worth the life of any citizen,”

According to statement, “The Forum finds it disturbing that politics, which should be about service, development, and improving the lives of the people, is increasingly becoming associated with violence, fear, and bloodshed.

“We strongly condemn all acts if violence and call on politicians and their supporters to exercise restraint, embrace dialogue, and conduct their activities peacefully.
