A executive officer of National Union of Road Transportation workers (NURTW) in Osogbo and Olorunda local government, Kazeem Oyewole, has demanded for immediate retraction of the online publication, public apology and compensation for tarnishing his image over allegations against him

In a letter signed by Barrister Seun Olawumi and obtained by the medium on Tuesday.

“A law firm, Law Metro suited in Lagos, acting on the instructions of Alhaji Kazeem Oyewole, popularly known and addressed as Asiri Eniba has officially written a letter of complaint to the publisher and editor in chief of Osun Defender, a weekly newspaper bulletin operating from Osogbo, Osun State capital.

“Demand for the retraction of the defamatory report concerning Mr. Kazeem Oyewole in your publication titled thugs attack Aregbesola’s PA, Owoeye’s Aide, Others in Osogbo”, Asiri Eniba is demanding immediate retraction of the online publication, public apology and compensation for tarnishing his image in public glare, owing to the concocted and damaging allegations against his person.

Recall that Osun Defender on Sunday, 28th March 2021 had reported that Kazeem Oyewole led a detachment of hoodlums and thugs to Firewood restaurant and bar within Oroki Estate to disrupt the birthday party of Hon. Taofeek Badmus Abolubode representing Osogbo State Constituency, in the process attacked and shot with live bullets Teju Adunni, the celebrant Taofeek Badmus and Joseph Akanbi Pentagon, a known aide of the Speaker of the Osun State house of Assembly. But in a swift reaction to the publication, Badmus had already denied being attacked by an hoodlum at the party.

Similarly, Asiri Eniba said the erroneous and falsely circulated publication of Osun Defender where he was referred to as a thug have assassinated his character and damaged his reputation as an executive officer of NURTW in Osogbo and Olorunda local government, within and outside the state.

He however request from the newspaper, alleged to be owned by a former Governor of Osun State evidence of his involvement in the fracas, and they have just 7days to accede to all his requests else the court will be ultimate judge in this matter.
