The Coordinate, Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) in Osun, Comrade Akin Asifat has disclosed that dollar will continue killing Nigeria currency, if the government fail to take decisive steps.

The union leader charged the government across levels to revitalize local industries that have been
moribund centers to produce locally.

Asifat stated this on Tuesday in Osogbo, Osun state capital said that the present economic condition of Nigeria is unbearable for the masses under the watch of the President Bola Tinubu led-administration.

He said, “The dollar is going to continue killing Nigeria currency, if the government fail to take decisive step against that.

“Firstly, part of what their going to do is that, we have to start producing locally. Our local industries that have been moribund centers have to refund, when you produce locally we are not going to depend on external goods and buy dollars before will can buy goods.

“The CBN have to be proactive in all the policies they do that not have any positive impact on economic.

“The Bureau de Change some of the bankers are giving them the money to sell out to the public and they have putting their changes into it.

There some companies in Nigeria that still paying their staff dollars and there are some private universities that forced their students to be paying in dollars which is crime when we are talking of Nigeria’s Constitution only legal tender Nigeria is naira.

“You will be surprised that when you want to deal with big organizations, they will be saying $50, $100, $1000, if all those can be stopped and the government takes charge of the regulatory monetary aspect of our economy everything is going to be normalized” Akin Asifat added
