The Speaker State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye has described the death of the former National leader of The Afenifere Group, Pa Ayorinde Fasanmi as a great loss to the Youuba race and Nigeria in general.
Pa Fasanmi was also a former National President ot the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.
In a condolence message by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Kunle Alabi described the late Afenifere leader as a politician of repute and an elderstateman, saying that his contributions to the search for a greater Nigeria was outstanding.
“I received the news of the death of our elderstateman with a shock but submission to the will of God.
“The death of Baba Fasanmi is a big loss to the Yorubaland as well as the entire nation because Baba was a politician who gave out his all for the betterment of the Yorubas and Nigeria as a whole.
“The love for a great Nigeria made Baba served at various times as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Ondo North. Baba later served as member of the Board of Directors of the old Western Nigeria Housing Corporation during the fourth republic, the list can go on but to mention a few”.
While praying for the repose of the soul of the late politician, Owoeye urged the progressive family of politicians to continue the good works of Pa Fasanmi, adding ” this is the only way to immortalise this pride of Yoruba and Nigeria”.
“I commiserate with the government’s and people of Ekiti and Osun, particularly the family of Fasanmi, I pray that God Almighty will grant them the fortitude to bear the loss”. The Speaker stated.
