Residents of Olorunsogo community, Obokun Local Government area of Osun State, have called on security agencies to safe them from communal crisis and breach of public peace might occur as one Seun Awokuse continue to parading himself as Alafajegede of the Olorunsogo community which the Chieftaincy committee of Ijesa North Federal Constituency has earlier cautioned against the claim.
TheSource gathered that the current Baale of Olorunsogo, Chief Ogunoye Adeyemi was installed on 15th April, 2016 by Oba Edward Adedayo Adetimo JP, Ajaaregbe of Oke-Olomu Arerun, Obokun local government.
It was revealed that since the installation of Chief Ogunoye Adeyemi, he has been functioning and performing his traditional customary duties diligently without hindrance in Olorunsogo community.
It was gathered that Chief Ogunoye Adeyemi has been in Olorunsogo since 2008 which he has able to facilitated maternity Center and Market before arrival of one Seun Awokuse into Olorunsogo in 2018 and later claimed to be Oba Alafajegede of Olorunsogo.
According to information Seun Awokuse was allegedly collecting money from the members of the Olorunsogo community as an Oba which he had earlier order by the Chieftaincy Committee not to parade himself as.
The Chieftaincy Committee of Ijesa North Federal Constituency has ordered both to remove their title from numbers plate to avert the crisis in the community but Seun Awokuse refused to remove Oba Alafajegede of Olorunsogo.
According to a letter submitted to the Department of Security Service, DSS and police headquarters, Osogbo, Osun State capital on Thursday by Committee for Defence of Human Right, CDHR signed by its chairman, Comrade Akinrinade Wahab stated that the people of Olorunsogo community were astonish and furious when Mr Seun Awokuse came to claimed Alafajege of Olorunsogo.
It further stated that Mr Seun Awokuse also compelling residents of the community to pay unnecessary dues.
“Mr Seun Awokuse has lured some people into his caucus which can lead to fraction in the community and later develop into power tussle and communal crisis.
“The said Mr Seun Awokuse is still collecting money and some other things forceful from the people of Olorunsogo up till today without any authority despite the order from the chieftaincy committee to stop doing so.
” We are praying to your esteem authority to please save our life and properties from communal crisis and breach of public peace that might cause by the act of the said Seun Awokuse in Olorunsogo community via Ijaregbe in Obokun local government of Osun State.” it added
