The Osun State Broadcasting Service Commission has honoured a leading veteran educationist in the State, Alhaji Fatai Kolawole with award of excellence as a result of his many contributions to the state broadcasting outfit.

The award was bestowed on Kolawole today at the official commissioning of OSBC radio and television cooperating building held at the premises of Ile Awiye, Osogbo, the state capital.

The newly commissioned building was named after the late Tiamiyu Adeniran Kolawole, the father of the erstwhile Osun PS as a result of the latter’s many positive contributions to the state broadcasting service cooperative society.

The event which had senior officials of the OSBC and a large turn out of members also attracted important personalities from different part of the State including traditional rulers.

In her welcome address, the Director General of OSBC, Mrs Adejumoke Akinjoola, acknowledged the philanthropic gesture of the Oluomo of Modakeke, Alhaji Fatai Kolawole and charged other well to do members of the public to emulate him.

In his reaction, the awardee,
Alhaji Fatai Kolawole appreciated God who he said inspired him to donate a block of building for OSBC cooperative society named after his late father, Pa Tiamiyu Adeniran Kolawole.

In his words, the Oluomo of Modakeke said, “I thank God, the Governor of our state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, OSBC cooperative society, greater achievements can be attained through collective responsibility like cooperative society”

The Oluomo of Modakeke hinted that another cooperative society building of the Ministry of Education where he served as the president will soon be commissioned”

In his message, the Governor, State of Osun, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola described the donor as a man of honour who served the State meritoriously while in civil service, he also encouraged the cooperative society of OSBC to utilize the building effectively.
