The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Osun State, Honourable Yemi Lawal has charged Nigerian youths to add value to themselves through skills acquisition, agricultural engagement in order to become self-reliance for development of the country.
Oyetola’s Commissioners, who spoke through Mr Adedayo Oderinu on Saturday at a day summit tagged; Good Governance and Entrepreneur, organized by Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Osun State, Ejigbo local government chapter held at Ejigbo, insisted that the key to success is adding value to ones life through development of gift and skills
Lawal said youths need to set standard on their part for the growth and economic development in their society.
He further said that Oyetola led administration has not relent in providing opportunities to residents of the State especially the youths
The present administration under the watch of Governor Gboyega Oyetola values the important of the young people and is not relenting in extending support to them. The governor has set aside loans for teeming youths to boost their small scale businesses in the state.” he said
He , however, commended the organizer of the program, noted that it will expose youths to different opportunity in agriculture and entrepreneurship in Ejigbo Local Government.
Speaking, the third Speaker of Youth Assembly of Nigeria Osun State chapter Rt.Hon Akande Dan Evidence said the summit was a program that youths can use to build the present generation and future.
He said that it is imperative for the youths to prepare themselves for today and tomorrow leadership in all ramification, urging them to engage in a lawful business that can have positive impact on economy of their country
According to him, “We should be less concern about the knowledge they impacted in us in school. It’s very important we learn the aspect like agricultural business, entrepreneurship, and skills acquisition.
“Youth should shun the act of hooligans, thuggery that can be the hindrance of taking leadership. We need to know our value and how we can add value to one and other’ he added.
Similarly, the honorable representing Ejigbo state constituency under the platform of Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Hon. Mustapha Adisa (Tegbe Jnr) said the role of the youths in national development cannot be over emphasized, adding that the ambassador representing Ejigbo Local Government will continue to engage youths in positive way.
Tegbe commended the efforts of the former Secretary of Ejigbo South LCDA Hon.(Mrs) Abosede Alamu in all ramification.
