You are a kind person, and you know it; however, you are often in a fix when showing kindness to people. You know that the saying “it’s in the little things” refers to simple acts of kindness. It may be as simple as paying someone a kind compliment, sending them a thank-you note, or holding the door. Other times, a smile could go a long way.

  1. Make a random phone-call checkup

When did you last speak to someone on the phone instead of sending a direct message to them? The sensation of a heart-to-heart phone conversation cannot be compared with text messages; however, this also depends on the recipient’s choice.

  1. Donate blood

Another way to show kindness to people is to donate to blood banks to save lives. You’ll be contributing to the act of saving the life of someone by donating your blood to blood donation facilities. Only do this if you are up for it, especially healthwise.

  1. Show up for your family

Create time to be with your family. Be of help in little but tangible ways that they will appreciate. Take them to a place you all have been meaning to go for a while, amidst all other things you can do to show kindness to them.

  1. Offer compliments

Pay a stranger a compliment at the mall, on the street, at the bank and any random place you happen to find yourself. It wouldn’t hurt to put a smile on someone’s face even when you do not know them.

  1. Volunteer

You can offer your help in the form of skills, money and other resources that you have and know would help people. It could be for an event, nursing home, the neighbourhood, or your place of worship.

Above all, it is not only through expensive gifts that you can show kindness to people. You can do a lot that would benefit people from your kindness. Remember, the little things also matter.
