As the 8th Southwest Conference / Scientific Workshop of the Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria (EHOAN), Southwest Zone is expected to kick-off between Monday 21st – Thursday 24th of July, 2025, all is now set by the association to decorate the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke with a special award of recognition of his unwavering support and commitment to environmental development in the state.
According to the press statement jointly signed and made available to newsmen by the Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Sanitarian Taiwo Awonuga and President of the South-West zone of the association, Sanitarian Dr. Tope Akinwumi, Governor Adeleke will be honour by the EHOAN South-West zone for his environmental-friendly initiatives while the entire association acknowledge his commitment to environmental sustainability, circular economy principles, and climate action.
The statement revealed that, series of activities have been put in place for the conference that will commence between 21-24, July 2025, which includes, foundation laying ceremony of South-West Environmental Health Officers Association of Nigeria, EHOAN, Secretariat, Badeku, Ibadan in Oyo State on Monday, July 21st, while the official opening ceremony including parade, professional possession, lectures and award of Governor Ademola Adeleke hold on Tuesday July 22nd. The Royal Father of the day will be, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja ll, the Ooni of Ife.
“On Wednesday July 23rd, there will be lectures to be delivered by the experts and on Thursday July 24th, Tourist and Excursion to Osun Osogbo groove and courtesy visit to Kabiyesi, Ataoja of Osogbo and to crown it up later in the day, there will be reward to outstanding Officers and raffle draws, Gala night, investiture and award to distinguished Sanitarians as well as eminent personalities who have contributed to the field of environmental health in the entire South-West”.
Sanitarian Awonuga and Dr Akinwumi, who admonished all members of the association in the South-West zone to troop out in large number and attend the programme, added that the theme of the Conference which is timely and relevant is “Circular Economy and Environmental Health Entrepreneurship: Pathways to Innovations, Skills Development and National Growth”.
“Venue of the Conference is Leisure Spring Hotels Ltd, Km 5, Iwo-Ibadan road, Osogbo, Osun State”, the statement concluded.
