As the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC sets to begin Voters registration exercise ahead of August 8, 2026 governorship election in Osun state, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye has implored residents who are up to 18 years and above to troop out enmass for the exercise.

The exercise, according to the election umpire is slated to commence on 18th August, 2025.

Akinleye, in a statement issued and personally signed in Osogbo on Friday enjoined Osun residents who are yet to get their Permanent Voters Card to take the advantage, as that is the only yardstick to get their governor reelected.

“In our collective journey towards building a better Osun State, it is vital that every eligible citizen actively participates in the democratic process
Online Voter Pre-Registration Begins: August 18th, 2025, Physical/In-Person Registration Commences: August 25th, 2025”

“If you are 18 years or older and you have never registered, or you lost your Voter’s Card, you need to update your details, this is your opportunity to take action and be part of shaping the future of our state and our nation”

“Let us unite to strengthen democracy and ensure the continuity of good governance and progressive leadership under His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke” Akinleye added.
