MAOS National Elect Leaders, Return Adekunle Sikiru as President

…Osun to host 2026 AGM

Members of the Mass Communication Alumni of Osun State Polytechnic (MAOS) have elected new leaders to steer the affairs of the association for the next two years.

The election took place on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in Ila area of Osun State, with delegates from various chapters in attendance.

Mr. Adekunle Sikiru popularly known as Abacus was re‑elected unopposed as the National President, securing a second term in office.

Other elected officers are Vice President, Adegboye Adewale (Watra); National General Secretary, Onafuwa Oluseun (Kilomode Mo); National Financial Secretary, Oluseyi Rosemary (Roxy); National Treasurer, Ogunjobi Sanya (MC Apostle); National Auditor, Olomola Oluwaseyi; National Publicity Secretary, Iperepolu Ajoke Annah (Arewa); and National Social Secretary, Balogun Abayomi ( Presenter)

Speaking, shortly after his inauguration on Sunday, National President, Sikiru assured stakeholders that his administration would foster collaboration, promote excellence in Mass Communication and strengthen the bond among alumni.

He pledged to work tirelessly without distraction to justify the trust placed in him and to serve with integrity, passion and renewed commitment.

Sikiru urged members to sustain unity and eliminate negative criticism, warning that no organisation can thrive in an atmosphere of disunity.

According to him, “I am overwhelmed with gratitude as I express my sincere appreciation to each and every member of MAOS who participated in the just concluded Annual General Meeting (AGM) and voted for us as the Executive of the Association.

“Let me use this opportunity to sincerely apologize to everyone who felt offended with my personal attitude, character, my reactions to issues and several people whose ideologies are differ to mine.

“I must express my deepest gratitude to all BOT, my wonderful immediately past NEC members, all Coordinators, all supportive MAOS individuals, all amazing progressive MAOS men and women.

“As we embark on this new chapter, I pledge to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to advance the interests of our association, promote excellence in Mass Communication, and foster a strong sense of community among our members,” he said.

Members of the association from Lagos, Abuja, Ondo, Oyo and Ekiti chapters unanimously agreed that Osun will host the next 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
