OOPA Tours Key Infrastructures in Osogbo, Kicks off 2025 Digital Media Week

The Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) has kicked off activities marking its 2025 Digital Media Week with an inspection tour of key locations in Osogbo to assess the state of public infrastructure across the capital as part of its Community Social Responsibilities (CSR)

The association, led by its Chairman, Mukhtar Ajelogbon, on Wednesday, December 3rd visited the Old-Garage/Oke-Fia Lameco Road, Oke-Fia Flyover and Lameco Flyover, with adjoining corridors to evaluate completed and ongoing projects, as well as areas requiring government intervention.

Speaking during the exercise, Ajelogbon said the association decided to start the Digital Media Week with an on-the-site assessment to gain first-hand insight into infrastructural conditions in the state.

“This visit is part of our social responsibilities to observe what the government has done and to identify areas still lacking in infrastructure,” he said.

“It is not political. It is simply a factual assessment of the current state of infrastructure in Osogbo.”

The association also noted that Osogbo has witnessed visible infrastructural development over the past eight years, especially in road networks and major junctions, but added that sustained attention is necessary to address persistent gaps.

While reviewing their findings, the association commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for ongoing infrastructural efforts across the state but emphasized that more work needs to be done, especially to complete the ongoing Lameco flyover for commuters to access which will also add to the achievements recorded under the current administration

Ajelogbon explained that the exercise was neutral and fact-based.
“The governor has made noticeable progress, and that is acknowledged. At the same time, there are other roads that need to be done. Our duty is to report both sides objectively,” he said.

He encouraged the government to continue prioritizing maintenance, drainage upgrades, traffic solutions and community-oriented infrastructure that directly improve residents’ daily lives, urging the residents of Osun state to imbibe the spirit of maintaining the public assets for sustainability and encouragement to the government to do more.

Earlier, the Digital Media Week planning committee led by Adesoji Omosebi had held a Press Conference where the association chairman declared this year’s Digital Media Week opened with various activities lined up.

The inspection marks the first activity lined up for the OOPA Digital Media Week, which will continue with engagements and events for the next few days.
