…Of Wike, Diran Odeyemi and Rebirth of PDP

That the Peoples Democratic Party now has a new birth in the country is not a new thing, but the crop of its new leadership is what Nigerian political spectators are watching.

The array of personalities garnered to paddle the political canoe is commendable.

Though, in South West, especially in Osun State the party, before now seems to have been in the political fiasco, especially with the emergence of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the gubernatorial candidate under the wig of the Accord Party in Osun, but the election of a political magnate, Prince Diran Odeyemi as National Treasurer of the party in the just concluded National Convention resuscitated the hope of the people that the party could still thrive in Osun and by extension in the South West.

Before now, Prince Diran Odeyemi had been a pilar of the party in the State of the Living Spring.

Prince Odeyemi, who had his political tutelage under the leadership of the first Executive Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke and Otunba Alao Akala is an experienced journalist turned politician. He is endowed with wisdom, skills and methodology to harness his people together to do a revival fo the party.

His contributions to the PDP victory in Osun is unquantifiable. As a former National Officer of the party is an advantage for him to do the job effectively.
During his tenure as the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the Party, a lot of strategies were drawn by him which eventually became a logistic curriculum for the party to function and perform effectively.

In the last few years, Prince Odeyemi has been a strategist for Nyesom Wike, especially in his political voyage. He blends his media experience with political mien to design Wike’s political syllabus. Declaration of Wike for Presidency, people have observed would give the Ibokun born- political doyen more dreams to actualize than before. For Wike to succeed in his presidential journey, he needs such brains like Odeyemi. A political map is necessary to be drawn, a manifesto that would go beyond lip service, but that would cough out reality to address basic problems in Nigeria; Power, fuel issues, Mass Unemployment, epileptic Naira Exchange Rate, Poor funding of Nigeria Education Industry, Science and Technology, Provision of Good roads and allied basic lacking necessities.

Prince Diran Odeyemi’s appointment is commendable, Osun PDP family has confidence in his performance, it is high time he brought the fruits of his political tutelage out now to salvage the PDP from its current collapse, while the ambition of the former Minister of FCT may not suffer if Odeyemi is given the full chance to work in the inner caucus of the Wike’s journey to rescue Nigeria from its present economic penury.
