The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa, Oba Dr Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, has congratulated his godson, Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo Oluwasegun over his election as the Chairman, Osun State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN.
According to the Elerinmo in his Congratulatory Message to the newly elected NYCN Chairman, issued and made available to newsmen by the Elerinmo In Council on Monday, his election was a deserving honour towards the betterment and upliftment of entire youths in Osun State.
Oba Arowotawaya who appreciated the National President of NYCN, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, members of the National Executive Council, NEC alongside members of the Council in Osun State for demonstrating their unalloyed and unflinching support to Comrade Akinbode towards his emergence promised that the new State Chairman would not let them down.
The Elerinmo said further that, “As I am assuring you of my unwavering support to your new office, I urge you to avoid overconfidence, remain focused and strategic in your approach.
“I also want to admonished you to always demonstrate dedication, competence, and commitment to your Council as your members are watching you, their expectation is not only to see you representing them but also to deliver your promises in taking the NYCN to the promise land.
“Prove your capacity, be good ambassador and capability to make a difference in your new office to promote entire youths in Osun and do not betray the trust reposed in you”.

Akinbode’s educational journey began at Baptist Primary School, Ifosan Ilesha, and continued at United Anglican Methodist Grammar School, Ijofi Ilesha. He later earned a degree in Economics from Tai Solarin University of Education.
Akinbode’s career reflects his diverse interests and commitment to positive change. He is the Creative Director of KODATEX Ventures, a business venture that deals with sales for fabrics in wholesales and also contributes to the agricultural sector as a farmer.
Akinbode is a passionate youth activist, dedicated to advocating for the rights and empowerment of young people. He is a strong champion for the education and well-being of the girl child, recognizing the importance of their contributions to society.

As a seasoned event planner, Akinbode has successfully coordinated numerous programs and events, bringing people together and fostering community engagement.
Akinbode’s leadership skills have been recognized throughout his career. He served as the immediate past chairman of The Nigerian Youth Congress Osun State chapter and as the Erstwhile Vice President of the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) in 2016/2017. He was recently elected and inaugurated as the NYCN Osun Chairman, where he is poised to drive positive change and empower young people in Osun State.
