The style of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Administration in Osun State calls for urgent attention by the Citizens most especially civil servants in the State.

Examining the Policies, Procedures, Rule of Law, and People Oriented Programme of past Administrations in the state, one could deduce that Only Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola’s Administration performed better in the area of Civil service Administration.

Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola Administration was the only Administration that never acted with impunity against the Civil Service Administration and Procedure, He maintained the Sound Civil Service Administration through objective Selection and appointment of Permanent Secretaries and other Top Civil Servants Appointment.

There was no Extension of Service and Appointments either by nepotism, tribalism, or favoritism.

I feel there is a need to be appreciative of the governance style of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

It should, however, be noted that the present ongoing illegality is a dent to the personalities of the top echelon of the present Civil Service in Osun State

The Head of Service (HOS) Mr. Samuel Ayanleye Aina in particular, would be deemed to be blameworthy for failing to curb the trend or draw the attention of the Governor to the unlawful Extension of Service making the Ademola Administration to be the first that has ever extend service year under PDP Administration since the inception of the State.

The most respected Institution which is the Office of the Head of Service compromised by misleading The Governor to unlawfully introduce the Extension of Appointment for Civil Servants all because of a selfish reason of remaining in service which is gradually becoming a norm in the state

The present HOS in the person Ayanleye Aina was the first beneficiary of the said illegalities.

The present development in the Osun Civil Service further exposed the incompetency of the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye and Chief of Staff Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, is questionable and it further indicates that they are a part of the aberration because they failed to guide the governor right.

Mr Governor should remember that democracy brought him into leadership and Democracy is still in full operation in our dear State.

I remember vividly during Ademola Adeleke’s Electioneering campaign in 2022, he specifically stated that he would never engage in Civil Service impunity. *As of today, Ayanleye Aina has spent 151 days after retirement and still functioning as active Head of Service while Olalere Rasheed Alabi has also spent 99 days functioning as Accountant-General of the State appending signature to all State Financial Instruments.* After retirement.

The duo are still on the payroll of the State collecting Salaries and Allowances attached to their respective Office.

To set the record straight, many Permanent Secretaries were retired and left but they were not considered for Extension of Service. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander if Adeleke thereby felt extension of service year is good in his face, he should therefore make it a standard for all civil servants in the state

Whatever the mindset of the Ademola Adeleke administration, the legacy of impunity he set in the state and within the civil service of Osun state has already been recorded against him because other governors will keep making references to that to justify such acts of illegalities in the future

This is an Administration of pure impunity characterized by Favouritism and Nepotism.

It is generally known both in religious and circular life that if you obey all laws but fail to uphold only one, you will be regarded as an unlawful-abiding citizen.

In Nigeria, Civil Service Institution is structured into Administrative, professional, executive, clerical, and Messengerial or Auxiliary. This is done in line with the international best practices. The gatekeeper and Maintenance Manager are the Governor and his Cabinet members. What is presently done in Osun State has never happened in any of the federating units in Nigeria where the Head of Service and Accountant-General are allowed to perform civil service roles after their statutory retirement age.

Despite all said by various organizations, individuals, etc, Mr. Governor insists on to continuing keep both Officers without minding both political and economic consequences.

At this juncture, I urge Mr Governor to take urgent action to address the situation, restore the integrity of the civil service, and uphold the rule of law. The people of Osun State demand good Governance, transparency, and accountability from your government.
