A human rights activist, Comrade Waheed Lawal has charged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to do everything possible to provide adequate security for lives and properties of Nigerians.

Lawal disclosed this in Osogbo, Osun State capital, said that Nigerian citizens have been depressed because of promised and failed of the outgoing government which he said as made them not believe in anybody again.

The rights activist urged the new government to take the security of lives and properties as priority.

He said that Nigerians are expecting the incoming government to make sure they can travel from Lagos to Northern, and Enugu to Abeokuta without fear of Insecurity.

He however charged the government to provide enable environment for businesses to thrive.

According to him, “Nigerian citizens is expecting the incoming government to provide adequate security for their lives and properties because whoever that want to enjoy any prosperity tomorrow must be alive today.

“It’s a constitutional provision that government should provides adequate security for the lives and properties of the citizens.

“The government should create enable the environment to make businesses thrive, the economy is in a shamble now.

“The incoming government should find away to make sure we have a robust economy that can compete with contemporary in African countries and the rest of the world.

“We have deficit of infrastructure if you look at the federal roads here in Osun State too you will know that we lag behind in terms of road infrastructure, the government should look into this practically.

“The power, if we have 24/7 electricity in Nigeria 50% of the government work would have been reduced because our youth would have been gainfully engaged. The government should engage our youths in a way that they will know that they have a brighter future”, he said.
