Saheed Fijabi Confirms PDP Governorship Aspirations, Dumps APC
A 2027 Oyo State gubernatorial aspirant, Hon. Saheed Fijabi, has officially confirmed his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and declared that he attended the party’s governorship screening committee.
Speaking to journalists, Fijabi stated that he joined the PDP to serve the state and its people after feeling sidelined by his former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I attended the PDP governorship screening committee. I belong to the PDP now. The other party rejected me because I was called to serve the state, to serve my people. I am telling you authoritatively that I am in PDP now. I am a card-carrying member, having done my registration online, and I have been relating with the people at our ward. My relationship with the party leaders is top-notch,” he said.
Fijabi added that he had not revalidated his APC membership during the last registration exercise, noting that his resignation may not appear online, but he had formally stepped down.
“The last time APC called for members registration, I never bothered to revalidate my membership. You may not see my resignation letter online because I’ve been in this thing for a couple of years. I understand how it runs, and I have done the needful by resigning from the APC,” he explained.
Hon. Fijabi is now pursuing his ambition under the PDP platform, emphasizing his commitment to representing the people of Oyo State and leveraging his political experience to foster development across the state.
