Osun 2026: PRP Candidate Asks Adeleke, Oyebamiji to Back His Governorship Bid

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in the 2026 Osun State governorship election, Dr. Oyelami Saliu Orisunlagba, has urged Governor Ademola Adeleke, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), and the Accord candidate to step aside and support his ambition.

Orisunlagba made the call during the 10th edition of the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) Media Parley.

Responding to a question on whether he would consider forming an alliance with the APC or Accord Party before the election, the PRP candidate ruled out such a possibility, insisting that other major contenders should instead support his candidacy.

He expressed confidence that his leadership vision and experience would enable him to provide better governance for the people of Osun State.

Orisunlagba said Governor Adeleke would complete his tenure and hand over power to him on November 27, 2026, following what he predicted would be his victory at the polls.

The PRP candidate described the forthcoming election as an opportunity for Osun residents to embrace a fresh direction in governance.

Speaking on his campaign agenda, Orisunlagba promised to prioritise education, youth empowerment, and improved service delivery if elected governor.

He also pledged to personally teach in secondary schools as governor, saying the move would inspire students and encourage academic excellence.

The PRP flagbearer further promised to engage qualified graduates across various sectors of the economy to strengthen governance and accelerate development in the state.

Orisunlagba, who contested the 2022 Osun governorship election under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), is among the candidates seeking to defeat the incumbent governor in the 2026 election.
