Elerinmo To Install Babatola Faseru As Otunba Bobagbimo Of Erinmo Land

The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa in Oriade local government area of Osun State, Oba. (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi JP, Arowotawaya II is set to install Pastor Babatola Faseru as Otunba Bobagbimo of Erinmo Land.

This was made known by the media department of the Elerinmo in Council in a press statement issued and made available to journalists on Thursday.

The Elerinmo in Council informed through the press release that the installation ceremony which coincides with this year’s Children’s day would also witness Oba Arowotawaya playing host as he does annually to about1000 Erinmo children.

The installation ceremony which is billed for Saturday, May 27, 2023 will witness the attendance of dignitaries from all walks of life, business class, society big wigs as well as traditional rulers from far and near and hold at the Elerinmo’s Palace chambers from 8.00am prompt.

The role of the new Otunba Bobagbimo towards the development of Erinmo-Ijesa cannot be over emphasised as he has been demonstrating his unalloyed supports to the ancient community with empowerment, drilling boreholes among others.

His father was late Asiwaju Ayorinde Faseru, the first Asiwaju of Ijebu-Jesa, was the Chief Protocol for all the military Governors in the South west old Oyo state from General Adebayo to General Jemibewon. When he retired he went into private business becoming a foremost distributor of Peugeot vehicles with Ayo Faseru Motors in Ilesa, the facility which has now been acquired and converted by his son Otunba Tola Faseru as Colossus limited for Cashew production and export.

His mother is Lady Evangelist Chief (Mrs) Victoria Modupe Faseru, the Matron of Diocesan Women Guild of Ijesa North Diocese. Lay Reader of the Anglican Communion, Yeye Gbadegun of Ijebu-Jesa and the Iya-Ijo of the All souls Anglican Church, Ijebu-Jesa in Osun State.

On his educational background, Otunba Babatola Faseru B.Sc, MBA, FICA attended the prestigious Government College, Ibadan in Oyo State for his West African School Certificate (WASC) from 1977-1982. He proceeded to University of Ilorin, Kwara State for his Business Administration, B.Sc (Hons) in 1983-1987 (where he and Oba Arowotawaya met and became friends) and later attended Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife for specialization in Finance and Marketing, MBA.

Pastor Faseru who is the Chief Executive / Chairman of Colossus Investment Limited, worked with Lead Merchant Bank in 1990-1998, First Bank of Nigeria on Industrial Attachment in 1989 and International Breweries PLC as Field Attachment in 1986.

Some of the prestigious positions held by Otunba Faseru in the past include, President, Board of Directors, African Cashew Alliance (ACA) 2020, Vice President, African Cashew Alliance, 2015-2020, President, National Cashew Association of Nigeria, 2011-2020, Vice President, National Cashew Association of Nigeria, 2003-2011 and Nigerian Ukrainian Business Council, Chairman Membership Committee, 2007.

When speaking on achievement, Otunba Faseru is an achiever per excellence in all his endeavours and some of his achievements includes, growing Colossus Investment Limited into one of the top Nigerian 50 non-oil export companies by implementing strategies business development initiatives including expanding our product lines and strengthening our export network.

Similarly in 2013, during his tenure as National President, National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN) for the first time, cashew was nominated as transformational crop under the Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA) of the Federal Government.

Along the line, in 2015, cashew was selected as one of the thirteen (13) National Strategic Products aimed at diversifying the Nigeria economy away from oil.

Another achievement he made was that under his tenure in 2017, National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN) was awarded the most active association of the year.

Otunba Babatola Faseru will also be formally installed as the Baba Egbe Aya Bishop of St Mathews Cathedral Church, Ijebu-Jesa on the same day.

He is an active member of Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos State Public Service Club as well as the Ijesa Society.

He loves to playing Lawn Tennis and Swimming as his hobbies.
