The Obaship crisis took another dimension in Iree, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, on Thursday when some youths visited the palace of Aree of Iree and set a part of the building ablaze.
The development which threw the town into confusion, forced shop owners and traders to flee in different directions.
Trouble was said to have started when officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) reportedly arrested the head of kingmakers in the town, the Aogun of Iree, Chief Soliu Atoyebi.
In an interview with Tribune Online, one of the chiefs, the Odoka of Iree, Chief A.O. Abiola, said it was the DSS officials that arrested the head of the kingmakers when it was discovered that he was scheduled to hold a conference scheduled for Friday .
He however said that he learnt that DSS officials had released him after he spent about three hours with them in Osogbo, the state capital..
